Privacy at the Net Zero Economy Authority
The Authority recognises the importance of privacy and the protection of personal information. We handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act). Under the Privacy Act, the Authority can only collect information for purposes that are reasonably necessary for, or directly related to, the Authority’s functions and activities.
The Authority’s Privacy Policy applies to all Authority activities that involve the management of personal information (whether digitally, in paper form or otherwise) by any staff or any contracted service providers on behalf of the Authority. The Privacy Policy also sets out:
- the kinds of personal information the Authority collects and holds
- how that information is collected and managed by the Authority
- the purposes for which the Authority collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information, and
- how to apply to the Authority for access to, and correction of, your personal information, as well as how to make a complaint if you consider that the Authority has breached its privacy obligations under the Privacy Act.
It also explains how the Authority will deal with such applications and complaints.
