Work with us

At the Net Zero Economy Authority, we prioritise meaningful work, wellbeing, flexibility, professional and personal growth and generous benefits.

Join us and help to deliver futures for industrial regions, communities and workers as Australia transitions to a net zero economy.

Employee arrangements

All of our employees are currently employed by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C).

We are presently establishing ourselves as a separate entity, including off-boarding from PM&C. We expect to complete this transition in 2026, at which time, under Machinery of Government changes, all employees will then become employees of the Net Zero Economy Authority.

When this transfer is complete, we will engage our employees under the Public Service Act 1999.

Currently, as part of PM&C, non-SES APS employees are covered by the employment conditions under the PM&C Enterprise Agreement 2024-2027. Following the Machinery of Government transition, the PM&C Enterprise agreement will continue until the nominal expiry date of 28 February 2027.

Current Vacancies

All of our recruitment is currently being managed through PM&C.

Graduate Program

Applications for the 2027 Australian Government Graduate Programs will open on 2 March 2026.

The Australian Government Graduate Programs offer graduates job opportunities across multiple disciplines. Applying to one of these streams means you only have to go through the application and selection process once to be considered for a range of Australian Government agencies and departments.

We will be participating in the Generalist Stream and Indigenous Graduate Pathway to recruit graduates for our 2027 cohort. More information about our program can be found on APSJobs.

Diversity and Inclusion

We are an equal opportunity employer, our workplace culture values the experiences, skills and perspectives of all employees. We value diversity and strive to have an inclusive culture along with a workforce that represents the diversity in our community.

So that we better represent the community we serve, we encourage First Nations people, people with disability, people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, and those with caring and parenting responsibilities to join us!
