NZEA at All Energy: Australia’s largest clean energy event

Royce C and Olivia B at the All Energy Conference

The Net Zero Economy Authority joined over 450 industry speakers, 400 suppliers and exhibitors and 11,500 industry professionals from around the world at All Energy Australia 2025.

The event was held in Melbourne on Wurundjeri Country over 2 days. All Energy is the Southern Hemisphere's largest clean energy event, bringing together the latest developments, innovations and technologies in the renewable energy sector.

Alongside colleagues from Austrade, the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, the Authority connected with businesses, industry, state and local governments.

The team deep dives into the atmosphere, the highlights and what made this year’s event stand out.

Big ideas driving big conversations

Energy and battery storage are playing a crucial role in Australia’s transition to renewable energy. With renewables increasing their share in the energy system, the challenge of integrating storage and ensuring a stabilised grid was front of mind across sessions. The showcase floor served as a reminder that there is a wide breadth and variety of battery energy storage systems and a growing number of companies involved in the space.

Hydrogen was another stand out topic, with panellists highlighting the importance of building a better understanding of the long-term prospects and opportunities. The team also heard from international partners who are leading the way in renewable energy, with the Danish Energy Authority sharing their experience with offshore wind and the story of the world’s first offshore wind turbine.

Overall, there was rich discussion of technologies and sectors which present opportunities for Australia and regions in the transition to a net zero emissions economy, as well as what is needed to unlock them.

On the ground, working together

There was a strong focus on collaboration between communities, First Nations groups and workers at the event. For our team this meant engaging with communities and proponents from our regions of focus, including the Pilbara, Latrobe and broader Gippsland and Collie.

Being a part of All Energy allowed us to forge partnerships across sectors and locations, to learn about new projects, services and supply chains that have the potential to shape our regions. The discussions we had are informing our work on how the Authority can support our regions to prosper, including through economic development and investment.
