The Net Zero Economy Authority (NZEA) engaged the Industry Capability Network (ICN) to produce a showcase of Hunter and Central Coast businesses that have the skills and capability to support the roll out and maintenance of transmission infrastructure projects. The project involved collaborating across state government, with Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) and the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD).
The Transmission Infrastructure Supplier Showcase (the Showcase) profiles 482 businesses in the Hunter and Central Coast capable of manufacturing, supplying, or delivering services across 68 different types of work.
In developing the Showcase, ICN distributed a survey to more than 1,000 businesses and directly engaged with businesses to maximise response rates and verify product or service offerings.
By sharing the Showcase with major contractors across the country, NZEA hopes to support stronger collaboration with local businesses and help maximise opportunities for participation in transmission projects across the Hunter and Central Coast.
What the Showcase includes
The Showcase profiles businesses that currently work, or could potentially work, in the following areas:
- planning and site preparation for transmission projects
- manufacturing, installation, and/or ongoing maintenance of transmission towers
- manufacturing, installation, and/or ongoing maintenance of electrical balance of plant, including but not limited to, cabling and wiring, substations, and transformers.

Businesses can register for free online at Gateway by ICN to be part of their online database to demonstrate their capabilities and connect with projects across the clean energy transition and the broader infrastructure pipeline.
