APS Employee Census

The 2025 APS Employee Census (the Census) ran between 5 May and 6 June 2025.

The Net Zero Economy Authority (the Authority) participated in the Census for the first time in 2025, following establishment in December 2024.

The Authority had a participation rate of 92 per cent for the Census. This high response rate provides the Authority with assurance that the results are representative of how our employees feel and enables us to drive more meaningful outcomes through our action plan.

Our Census results were positive in the areas of flexible work practices, immediate supervisors, and managing change and consulting staff through change. 

The Census results showed our employee engagement was lower than where we want it to be and largely reflect a period of major organisational establishment.

Our 2025 Action Plan has been developed in partnership with our executive and employees and identifies 4 key areas of focus: SES leadership, goal clarity, job-skills match and supporting positive workplace culture.
