Collie Battery
The Collie Battery Stage 1 with a capacity of 219 MW for four hours is operational. Stage 2 is currently under construction and will bring an additional capacity of 341 MW for four hours. The Australian Government’s Clean Energy Finance Corporation provided $55 million in capital to help finance the project.
The Collie Battery will provide short-duration storage in peak times and deliver grid reliability services. Altogether, the Collie Battery (560 MW) will have the ability to charge and discharge 20% of the average demand placed on Western Australia’s transmission network.
